Client Overview
20 Microns is a listed company on the BSE and NSE, operating in the manufacturing and trading of multiple grades of industrial minerals. With operations spread across dozens of manufacturing plants and thousands of vendors, operational efficiency, compliance, and real-time visibility were critical to business performance.

Challenges
Despite having SAP as its core ERP, a large portion of operational workflows was managed through Excel sheets, WhatsApp groups, and manual coordination.
Key challenges included:
- Transporter allocation and pickup management handled manually.
- Inward and outward material movement lacking centralized tracking.
Vendor coordination spread across informal communication channels.
- ISO compliance documentation managed offline.
- High dependency on SAP for every operational change, resulting in high recurring costs.
- Limited usability for shop-floor teams and external vendo.
Managing operations across 38 manufacturing plants and 3,000+ vendors using fragmented tools created risk, inefficiency, and decision-making delays.
Root Cause
The operational challenges originated from a mismatch between SAP’s core ERP design and day-to-day operational requirements across plants and vendors.
- SAP was optimised for finance and high-level ERP functions, not for frequent operational workflows like transporter allocation and gate management.
- High customisation and recurring costs made SAP expansion across all plants financially impractical.
- Limited usability for plant teams and vendors reduced system adoption.
- Operational teams relied on Excel and WhatsApp for speed, causing data fragmentation.
- Heavy dependence on ABAP resources slowed process changes and scalability.
- Lack of a unified operational layer restricted real-time visibility and central control.
The WEBaniX Solutions
Webanix designed and implemented a non-accounting MIS platform, tightly integrated with SAP, to digitize and centralize end-to-end operational workflows.
The solution included:
- A web portal and mobile application communicating with SAP in real time
Deep coordination with the client’s SAP ABAP team to design secure APIs
A phased rollout strategy, with the project currently in its 5th phase of development.
Enterprise-grade security to protect sensitive vendor and material-grade data.
The platform delivered SAP-grade control without SAP-grade complexity or cost.
